The faithful minister of the Gospel is not a clever raconteur, nor a stand up comedian, nor a glib conversationalist, but simply a humble servant sharing what God has spoken through His Word.
To quote the apostle Peter:
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 2 Pet. 1:16
And the apostle Paul:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim. 3:16, 17
And one more insight from the author of Hebrews:
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb. 4:12
Peter finishes the matter:
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Pet. 1:21
The minister who faithfully “plagiarizes” Holy Writ is clearly fulfilling his calling!
