“…Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
Although it’s unlikely that this was his intent, these words seem to mirror those of Christ in Matthew 7:13,14: “Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it. Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Feeling somewhat superior for “choosing” the Way to Life? Don’t! Listen to the words of Jesus again: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” – John 6:44.
To quote Steve Brown: “We’re just beggars showing other beggars where to find bread.”
