Have an Answer? Live So You Get Questions!

In 1 Peter 3:15, the apostle challenges us to “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you..”.

Since we are to be ready to give an answer, that presupposes that a question has been asked! Where does this query come from? Why would anyone ask us for an explanation (apologia in the Greek, where the term Apologetics was born) for our response Question marksto the challenges of life? If we respond in the same manner as everyone else, consumed with anxiety, fear, depression, confusion, etc., there is nothing to mark out us as different (something we should be, as Paul describes us as a “peculiar people”  in Titus 2:14 ). A timely quote that comes to mind is “Live a life that demands explanation.”

Do you live a life that makes others ask questions?!
