God, Commas and Periods…

comma“Never place a period where God has placed a comma.” Believe it or not, a line from comedienne Gracie Allen, in essence stating that God is still speaking (indeed He is, through His Word – Heb. 1:2).

An important corollary to this statement is ” Where God has a period, don’t place a comma.” Here are some of His periods:

Rom 3:10,11 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God.

Eph 2:8,9 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, unless any man should boast.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Rev 22:18,19 For I testify together to everyone who hears the Words of the prophecy of this Book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add on him the plagues that have been written in this Book. And if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this prophecy, God will take away his part out of the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which have been written in this Book.

Watch your punctuation when you are dealing with His Word!
