Two Hopes: One from the World, the other from God

ImageHope for the world goes something like this: we wish, we anticipate, we desire, but have no idea if we will ever get. Hope for the Christian is entirely different. 1 Peter 1:3 says that our hope is a LIVING hope – dynamic, active, sustaining. Our self-image changes (we are pilgrims here, don’t really fit in, per 1 Peter 2:11), our values are transformed (Matt. 6:19-21) and our actions are impacted (Titus 2:1-13). Our God is the God of Hope, filling us with Joy and Peace (Rom. 15:13) as we focus on Him and how He has gifted us.
